The Sacrament of Baptism
REQUIREMENTS FOR BAPTISM (For children under 7 Years)
Parents

Parents must come to the office to register the child and submit all the documentations required bellow. They must fill out the baptismal form.

At least one of the parents must be Catholic that the child will be educated in the catholic faith.

Parents and Godparents must have attended the pre-baptismal classes before the actual baptism.

Child's birth certificate. The certificate issued by the hospital is not valid for baptism (this is not considered to be a government document).
Godparents:

Godparents must be at least 18 years old and active member at Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church. If they belong to another parish, they must obtain a letter of recommendation from their own pastor.

If godparents are single please present all 3 certificates: Certificates of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation. He and she must be in good standing with the catholic church and practicing the catholic faith.

If godparents are married, they must submit marriage certificate by the Roman Catholic Church. *NOT the marriage license.

Living with someone in a civil marriage or common law relationship is NOT accepted to be the Godparents for baptism.
Others

A donation of $50.00 will be asked for every child being baptized to cover expenses of white cloth and baptismal certificates.

Children over the age of seven should go the appropriate formation. Contact the pastor.
NOTE
All documents required above must be submitted to the office to be able to register and set a date for baptism. It is a mandatory requirement.
If there is any question, please come to the office and talk with the pastor.
El Sacramento de Bautismo
REQUISITOS PARA EL BAUTISMO (Para niños de menores de 7 años)
Padres

El papá o la mamá del niño(a) debe venir a la oficina para registrarse para el bautismo.

Deben llenar la forma / aplicacion del bautismo y sumetir todas las documentaciones requeirdas.

Los padres deben prover alguna ID (sea cerficado de nacimiento, licensia de conducir, o cerficado de matrimonio, etc. )

Al menos uno de los padres deben ser catolicos para adegurar la educacion del niño o de la niña en la fe. Si los padres no son Catolicos deben entrevistarse primero con el Padre ( Pastor).

Los padres y los padrinos deben de recibir la clase Pre-Bautismal antes del bautizo.

Deben presentar el cetificado de nacimiento del niño/ niña otorgado del govierno y NO del hospital.
Padrinos:

Los padrinos deben tener mayores de 18 años y paracticantes de la fe catolica.

Si los padrinos son solteros necesitan presentar los 3 siguientes certificados:
- Certificado de Bautismo
- Certificado de Primera Comunión
- Certificado de confirmacion
Tambien deben estar viviendo conforme a la enseñanza de la Iglesia.

Si los padrinos son casados presentar:
- Certificado de matrimonio por la Iglesia Católica Romana; *NO el acta del matrimonio civil de la ciudad.

NO pueden ser padrinos si estan casados solamente por el civil o si viven en unión libre.
Otros:

La cuota administrativa de registración es de $50.00 ($10 extra por cada niño que se agregue)

Los niños mayores de 7 años deben pasar por una formacion apropiada. Contactar al pastor.
NOTA
Todos los documentos requeridos anteriormente deben ser entregados a la oficina para que se pueda registrar y tener una fecha para el bautismo. Es un requisito MANDATORIO. Si hay alguna pregunta, por favor de venir a la oficina y hablar con el sacerdote.
La clase debe tomarse en el mismo idioma que el bautismo. Las clases serán presenciales en el Centro Bishop Grahmann con el instructor Juan Cruz
